What to expect

The Doric at Arippu is the ruin of an early nineteenth-century residence associated with the first British governor, Frederick North. Its surviving walls stand above the coast and recall the region's pearl-fishing history.

Visit for the coastal setting and the remains of the building. The structure and surrounding edge are weathered, so enjoy the view from stable ground and keep clear of fragile walls.
